Choose to Read Ohio, a project of the State Library of Ohio and its partners, is designed to promote reading across Ohio. Choose to Read Ohio will connect children, families, and Ohioans of all ages in the experience of sharing Ohio literature.

The Choose to Read Ohio booklist for 2009-2010 includes fifteen titles by Ohio authors, five each for children, young adults, and adults.  Choose to Read Ohio toolkits include author information, discussion questions, and other resources to support communities reading and discussing the books together.

Schools, libraries, book groups, clubs, places of worship, and others may select any of the books and use the toolkit resources to plan and supplement their own book discussion.  Choose to read a title together over a six-week period between National Library Week (April, 2009) and the end of 2010.  When your group or community has completed its book discussion, please tell us about it by completing the Choose to Read Ohio survey.

A new Choose to Read Ohio booklist will be made available in late 2010 for book discussions in 2011.  Email Janet Ingraham Dwyer at jdwyer@library.ohio.gov to be added to the Choose to Read Ohio notification list.  You will be alerted when the 2011 booklist is ready and kept informed of other Choose to Read Ohio developments.

Choose to Read Ohio encourages Ohioans to Read Together, Read Ohio, and Read for Life.
