LSTA Disability Grants
The LSTA Disability Grant program is being revised. A special LSTA Disability Grant program will be launched in July 2009. When the program becomes available, it will be announced on this site and through major listservs. The special LSTA Disability Grant program will allow libraries to purchase the VictorReader Stream DAISY at a special discounted rate. A template application is being developed and will focus on purchase of the VictorReader Stream DAISY, training, and marketing and promotion. Anticipated timeline: Release of RFP: Late July 2009 Applications due: October 2009 Funding period: January 2010 - September 2010 Readers would need to be purchased between January and March. Libraries interested in other types of services to those with disabilities, including the purchase of different readers which are DAISY and NLS compliant, may do so under the LSTA Minigrant or Full Grant programs. Release of the 2010 LSTA Minigrant RFP will occur in August 2009 and release of the 2010-2011 LSTA Full Grant RFP will occur in January 2010.
