ALA teams withReader's Digest for Make It Matter Day ALA has signed on as a sponsor of Make It Matter Day, to be held October 3, an effort to encourage Americans to participate in literacy and education activities, organized by Reader’s Digest. Earlier this year, the editors at Reader’s Digest asked readers to identify a cause that mattered most to them. The winner was literacy and education. Reader’s Digest is encouraging the public to participate in literacy events at local Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCAs, and libraries.
