Whether you’re near a lake, a river, a pond, a swimming pool, or just the bathtub, you’ll want to Make a Splash – Read! at the 2010 Ohio Summer Reading Program. Teens will Make Waves at Your Library during the Teen SRP, and adults can Water Your Mind – Read with the Adult SRP.
SRP Manual packages have been distributed and include manuals for the children’s, teen, and adult programs. Your manual is full of planning, promotion, and program ideas. For still more ideas:
The artist for the children’s SRP is Henry Cole, the author and illustrator of numerous acclaimed books including I Took a Walk, On the Way to the Beach, On Meadowview Street, and Trudy. His first novel, A Nest for Celeste, is scheduled for release in early 2010. The artist for the teen SRP is Ursula Vernon, author and illustrator of Dragonbreath, Nurk, and Digger.

- Russell Walks, artist for the 2006 and 2007 Teen SRP, is available to visit your library to talk with your teens about the importance of reading and about how a friendship with literature can help young adults achieve their dreams. Email for more information and see Russell's site.
- Tales & Trails Storytelling offers a storytelling safari and interactive concert, Where the Wet Things Are.
- Papa Dieux's Well: A Folktale from Haiti performed by theatre-in-education company World of Difference, on the theme of access to drinking water.
- The Zinghoppers, Splish Splash – CD including 21 songs and puppet skits themed to the SRP.
- Discover the Oceans: The World’s Largest Ecosystem – book by Lauri Berkenkamp published by Nomad Press.
- Fun with Steve and Marty, Let’s Have a Reading Party – CD with song “Make a Splash and Read” and other songs and stories.
- New York-based author Kathy Price offers Bayou, Bubbles and Blues with music, reading, and a kazoo craft based on her book The Bourbon Street Musicians.
- The Act!vated Storytellers, a theatrical storytelling troupe, performs folktales including a program called Water Wonder Tales to match the SRP theme.
- Wild Goose Chase Theater - shadow puppet theater and puppetry/poetry workshops for PreK through elementary ages.
- Whiskers' Pond - novel by Dan Borengasser for intermediate (3rd - 7th grade) readers, about a frog's quest to save his pond.
- Cornerstone Graphics & Apparel sells t-shirts, golf shirts, and totebags themed to the SRP.
