OHIO PROGRAMS & SERVICES FOR CHILDREN

The State Library of Ohio does not offer direct services to children. However, we do strive to address the concerns of children's  librarians.

The following links go to the Ohio Center where you will find information about Ohio's initiatives, programs & services, and resources. Opportunities to contribute content, resources, participate in discussions, and form groups are available in each area.

Early learning creates a foundation for lifelong learning; no other time in human development presents such a rich opportunity to build that foundation. Libraries offer a chance to create a supportive environment and fun programs that support early learning and literacy. Instilling a love and habit of reading in our youngest patrons goes beyond pure entertainment -- it also drives language and analytical skills, decision making, and the shaping of great stewards of our communities. Yet, we can't forget the fun: stories and fantasy are learning! Games do build knowledge! Learn about successes in early literacy programs, and feel free to share your relevant program experiences, successes, and articles here.
